SUBSTITUTE Adjusting the Work Timeline for the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee and Landmarks Commission.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison created the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee (Resolution File # 33846) to provide a discussion forum that brings together important perspectives to help address complex issues addressed by the Landmarks Commission draft amendments to the Landmarks Ordinance; and

WHEREAS, that Resolution provided a timeline for work performed on the Landmarks Ordinance by the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee and the Landmarks Commission; and

WHEREAS, under the timeline created, the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee is required to issue a report containing its considerations and recommendations to the Common Council for Phase 1 no later than October 7, 2014; and

WHEREAS, under the timeline created, the Landmarks Commission is required to introduce Phase II recommendations to the Common Council for referral to the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee no later than July 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, meetings and deliberations regarding the capital budget and other events required the cancellation of three meetings of the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee during the month of September; and

WHEREAS, as a result of these cancellations, the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee will be unable to complete its work on Phase 1 by October 7, 2014; and

WHEREAS, the capital budget contains proposed expenditures for a Comprehensive Preservation Plan, the results of which will be beneficial to the Landmarks Commission and the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee’s work on Phase II.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council adjusts the work timeline for the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee for the completion of Phase 1, and the work timeline for the Landmarks Commission for the completion of Phase II, as ...
