Body
WHEREAS, City Engineering has provided funding to the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission for the past  few decades for water quality monitoring of the storm water discharge to Lake Mendota at Spring Harbor; and,
 
WHEREAS, This water quality monitoring is done by the USGS; and
 
WHEREAS, City Engineering has requested that chloride be added to the list of constituents to be monitored at this site, in addition to phosphorus and total suspended solids; and
 
WHEREAS, continuing long term monitoring of discharges to create a "historical" record is extremely valuable and important to stormwater quality research;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
 
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement 2014 Renewal with the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission for the investigation of water resources within the City of Madison through the Dane County Cooperative Water Resource Monitoring Program.  Said agreement renewal covers the period of January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014, and;
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Comptroller be authorized to make payment to the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission in accordance with the Cooperative Agreement.  Said payment to be made from Account No. ESTM-54809-563110.
