No appropriation is required. This agreement will enable Scott Safety to provide training to Fleet Service technicians to continue to perform warranty and maintenance work on, thereby allowing them to remain certified to work on certain Scott products. The training will be provided at no cost to the City.

Body
WHEREAS, Scott has developed and manufactures a series of health and safety products, accessories, and replacement parts (collectively, the “Scott Products”); and,

WHEREAS, the Fire Department has purchased and owns 300+ breathing apparatuses, manufactured by Scott Products; and, WHEREAS, the IRC has purchased and owns certain of the Scott Products; and

WHEREAS, since at least 1991 the City, through both the Fleet Service Division and the Fire Department, has performed warranty and maintenance work on Scott Products owned by the City and used by the Fire Department pursuant to an in-house repair center agreement with Scott Safety; and,

WHEREAS, Scott Safety wishes to update the in-house repair center agreement with the City to allow the City to continue to the IRC, as an independent entity, desires to perform certified overhaul level inspection, repair, and service to such Scott Products owned by the Fire Department IRC; and,

WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue to perform this warranty and maintenance work on Scott Products, and in order to have full access to the warranty and repair manuals, get reimbursed for warranty work, and obtain in-person training from Scott Products, Scott Products requires the City to enter into an In-House Repair Center Agreement.
