Fiscal Note

Amendment #1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Strand Associates Inc. for associated construction services for Booster Station 106 will not exceed $44,500. Funds for this project are included in the 2013 Water Utility Capital Budget, Account #EW01-54950-810516.

Title

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute Amendment #1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Strand Associates for additional construction administration costs associated with the reconstruction of Booster Pump Station 106 (5th AD).

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility is in the process of rebuilding Booster Pumping Station No. 106; and

WHEREAS, the Booster Pumping Station No. 106 was designed and bid during the winter and spring of 2013 and that design resulted in a complex structure that would fit within the existing building footprint. This added complexity will result in additional construction administration costs; and

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has entered into a Professional Services Agreement with Strand Associates Inc. for design and construction assistance services in reference to the Booster Pumping Station No. 106 project, and has negotiated an Amendment for the expanded construction administration services for the project;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Strand Associates not to exceed $44,500 for additional construction administration services for the construction of Booster Pumping Station 106.
