TERM EXPIRES: 4-21-2015

HENRY LUFLER, JR. (6th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.  Mr. Lufler is a member of the Urban Design Commission.  He is a former member of the Common Council and recently retired as an Associate Dean for External Relations and Facilities at the UW-Madison School of Education.

*JOHN (JACK) HOLZHUETER (Mazomanie) - appoint to the position of Member.

Rationale:  Mr. Holzhueter is a retired historian. He worked for the Wisconsin Historical Society for over three decades.  He is a recognized Frank Lloyd Wright authority including having done significant research on the Lamp House.  He served on the boards of Frank Lloyd Wright Wisconsin and the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy.  Mr. Holzhueter lived in the Lamp House in 1961 which, as a historian, triggered extensive research on the Lamp family and the Lamp House.  When the Elvehjem Museum of Art conceived its major Wright exhibit in the mid-1980s Mr. Holzhueter was asked to handle research and writing about Wright's earliest Madison work, 1893-1905. During that research he identified the correct dating of the famous, but unbuilt, Yahara Boathouse project. This enabled corrections in dating Wright's breakthrough to abstract architecture. This important discovery led to increased involvement as a speaker and writer on Wright topics around the country. Mr. Holzhueter wrote the article "Frank Lloyd Wright's Designs for Robert Lamp" published in the Wisconsin Magazine History, vol. 72, No. 2 Winter 1988-1989.  (see attached link)

Mr. Holzhueter led the effort to procure a rare collection of early photographs of Taliesin, Frank Lloyd Wright's original Spring Green residence. Few, if any, would have been able to achieve this accomplishment. (see attached link)

DAVID V. MOLLENHOFF (6th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.
Mr. Mollenhoff is the author of Madison, a History of the Formative Years and Frank Lloyd Wright's Monona Terrace: The Enduring Power of a Civic Vision.  These scholarly works were published by UW Press.  Mr. Mollenhoff served on Madison's Landmarks Commission and is noted for his grasp and extensive knowledge of the history of Madison.

ANNA V. ANDRZEJEWSKI (10th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.
Ms. Andrzejewski is a UW professor in the Department of Art History with affiliations in: Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Center for Culture, History, and the Environment and the Nelson Institute. She has taught courses on Western Architecture from the Renaissance to Modern, a course on Vernacular Architecture and Landscapes and seminars in American Architecture and Art.  She has publications related to architecture including having co-edited a guidebook focused on Madison architecture.

WILLIAM GATES (4th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.
Mr. Gates is a neighborhood resident, living within two blocks of the Lamp House.  He has been an active participant on the neighborhood Steering Committee.  He has a background in Computer Science including as Director of the Center for Demography.  He is knowledgeable in GIS and Census.  He has held UW staff appointments in Economics, Sociology, Institute for Environmental Studies and Landscape Architecture.

NANCY E. FEY (4th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.  Ms. Fey currently serves as chair of the Madison Food Policy Council and co-chair of the Committee on Community Gardens.  She recently stepped down as chair of the Plan Commission after serving for 10+ years.

JASON L. TISH (6th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Member.
Mr. Tish has been the Executive Director of the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation (MTHP) since 2009.  He is a board member for Frank Lloyd Wright Wisconsin.  Prior to his work at the MTHP Mr. Tish worked for Mead & Hunt as a Cultural Resource Consultant and for the Wisconsin State Historic Preservation Office as a Digital Resources Specialist.  He has a Master's degree from UW Madison in Landscape Architecture and History.

Respectfully submitted,

Paul R. Soglin
