WHEREAS, Alderperson Bridget Maniaci was elected to the Madison Common Council on April 7, 2009; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Maniaci served on the ADA Transit Subcommittee, City-County Liaison Committee, East Washington Avenue 800 Block North Committee, Pedestrian/Bicycle/Motor Vehicle Commission, State Street Design Project Oversight Committee, Transit and Parking Commission, East Washington/Capitol Gateway BUILD Steering Committee, Housing Committee, Landlord and Tenant Issues Subcommittee, Landmarks Commission, Long Range Transportation Planning Committee, Madison City Channel Ad Hoc Advisory Committee, Sister City Ad Hoc Planning Committee, Sister City Collaboration Committee and Dane County Homeless Issues Committee; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Maniaci has facilitated over $250 million in investment and infrastructure projects for her district during her four years in office including the redevelopment of the Edgewater Hotel, and stewardship of the City’s purchase and redevelopment of the former Don Miller car dealership properties on E. Washington Avenue and her successful advocacy of various housing projects including the award-winning, certified Green Built and Energy Star rated City Row affordable housing project; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Maniaci spearheaded quality housing and access to housing options in her district through her Small-Cap TIF homeowner assistance program, her sponsorship of legislation to strengthen tenant protections and the City’s Chronic Nuisance ordinance; and having personally reported over a hundred cases of building inspection violations for attention by city agencies; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Maniaci helped stabilize and grow the small businesses in District 2 through successful passage of City-sponsored façade improvement grants, in...
