Commending and thanking Alderperson Shiva Bidar-Sielaff for her dedicated and conscientious service during her tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.

Body

WHEREAS, Alderperson Shiva Bidar-Sielaff was elected by her peers to the office of President of the Madison Common Council on April 17, 2012 for the term 2012-2013; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff met weekly with Mayor Paul Soglin and Council President Pro Tem Chris Schmidt to discuss city issues; and,

WHEREAS, during her term as Common Council President, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff also served as chair of the Common Council Organizational Committee and served on the Alcohol License Review Committee, Board of Estimates, Education Committee, Jeffrey Clay Erlanger Civility in Public Discourse Award Committee, Joint West Campus Area Committee, Madison Food Policy Council and the TIF Policy Review Ad Hoc Committee; and,

WHEREAS, during her tenure as Common Council President Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff held numerous discussions and forums for the Common Council on issues that involved the development of the Common Council Legislative Agenda, the state of the city budget and transportation-related initiatives ; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff fulfilled her duties as Common Council President while ably representing and responding to her 5^th District constituents concerns and issues,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Shiva Bidar-Sielaff for her dedicated and conscientious service during her tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.
