Commending and congratulating Research Products Corporation as it celebrates 75 years of innovation, employment and community involvement.
Body
WHEREAS, Research Products Corporation was founded in 1938 and employs approximately 400 people in Wisconsin, Arizona and Minnesota; and
 
WHEREAS, Research Products is one of Dane County's most successful, continuous employers, providing a stable base of employment in our community; and
 
WHEREAS, Research Products' headquarters have been located on E. Washington Avenue in Madison for its entire 75-year history; and
 
WHEREAS, Research Products enjoys a reputation for having created a "world of firsts," with products to enhance comfort, health and productivity; and
 
WHEREAS, Research Products has been a generous partner with the Marquette Neighborhood and the City, offering space and donating refreshments for meetings for many years; and
 
WHEREAS, Research Products decided, after internal review of their operations, that they no longer needed the parcels at 204 and 210 S. Ingersoll Street and sold the properties to the City in August 2011 in order to expand Central Park;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and congratulate Research Products Corporation as it celebrates 75 years of innovation, employment and community involvement.
