WHEREAS, Dave began work for the City Assessor on August 12, 1985, and;
 
WHEREAS, on September 18, 1988 Dave began working for the Engineering Division as a Drafting Technician, and;
 
WHEREAS,  Dave came to City Engineering with a passion for Computer Mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which were in their infancy at that time, and;
 
WHEREAS, Dave was on the ground floor for establishing the direction the Engineering Division and the City would take to enter the modern era for our Mapping and GIS needs, and;
 
WHEREAS, over the years Dave advanced to become Manager of the Computer Mapping and GIS Section for the Engineering Division, all while advancing our capabilities and continually going above and beyond to satisfy the needs of other Agencies within the City, and;
 
WHEREAS, now Dave has retired from the City of Madison Engineering Division on December 28th, 2012.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that  the Mayor and Common Council express their appreciation to David A. Davis upon his retirement after more than 28 years of dedicated service with the City of Madison.
