The estimated cost for 2013 is $48,275 for architectural services to support the 2014 renovation of Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.  Funding is included in the 2013 Monona Terrace Capital Budget (810598).

WHEREAS, Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed facility;
 
WHEREAS, Peter Rott of Isthmus Architecture is a licensed architect and the first recipient of a Master's Degree from the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture;
 
WHEREAS, Isthmus Architecture has hired Tony Puttnam, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, and a Taliesin Fellow to serve as a design consultant;
 
WHEREAS, Isthmus Architecture and Tony Puttnam have intimate knowledge of the standards and specifications required to maintain a Frank Lloyd Wright facility;
 
WHEREAS, Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center desires to uphold the Frank Lloyd Wright design principles and intent as well as the iconic reputation of the facility;
 
Whereas, Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center wishes to utilize the skills and knowledge of  Isthmus Architecture for consultation on consistency with Wright's principles, intensions and vision;
 
Whereas, Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center desires to enter into a contract with Isthmus Architecture to provide design services for the upcoming 2014 renovation;
 
WHEREAS, Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center combined with Isthmus Architecture have identified several elements of the facility in need of upgrade and Isthmus Architecture has the wherewithal to provide design and specs to complete those upgrades;
 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes sole source purchase of services from Isthmus Architecture to provide design services to Monona Terrace Community and Convention center for the 2014 renovation.
