The additional $350,000 in local funding for this project is available in the 2013 Bicycle and Pedestrian Capital Budget Project 6. The funds should be encumbered as follows:

Authorizing the Finance Director to encumber $350,000 in additional funding for the Cannonball Phase 3 Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (Contract 6722)
Body
WHEREAS, Resolution RES-12-00697 (File 27425) previously authorized an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the Cannonball Path Phase 3 (Bridge over the Beltline) project (State Project 5992-09-07), with a City share of $1,800,197 and Federal funding of $2,200,240; and
WHEREAS, the costs of construction are now estimated to be $350,000 greater than the current agreement; and
WHEREAS, there is no additional federal or state funding available to cover these additional costs and the City is responsible for all costs exceeding the federal cap; and
WHEREAS, the 2013 Adopted Capital Budget included $2,233,600 in GO Funding for this project, thereby allowing for these additional funds to be encumbered.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Finance Director is hereby authorized to encumber an additional $350,000 under Contract 6722 with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
