Title
Authorizing the Common Council to accept ownership from Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association of a neighborhood entrance sign and decorative landscaping to be located in the public right-of-way of Portland Parkway, near the intersection of Milwaukee Street.
Body
WHEREAS, the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association has requested permission to install a neighborhood entrance sign within the public right-of-way of Portland Boulevard, near the intersection of Milwaukee Street, as shown on Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association has requested permission to install decorative landscaping within the public right-of-way of Portland Boulevard, near the intersection of Milwaukee Street, as shown on Exhibit B; and
WHEREAS, the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association has agreed to maintain the neighborhood entrance sign and decorative landscaping; and
WHEREAS, the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association will transfer ownership of the neighborhood entrance sign and decorative landscaping to the City after they have been installed, in exchange for the ongoing maintenance of these items by the Association; and
WHEREAS, the Privilege in Streets Committee has reviewed this request and approved it with conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Madison accepts ownership, from the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association of a neighborhood entrance sign and decorative landscaping to be located in the public right-of-way of Portland Boulevard, near intersection of Milwaukee Street, as shown on the attached Exhibits A and B; subject to the following conditions:
1. The Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association shall locate the neighborhood entrance sign and decorative landscaping within a specific area, as approved by the City Traffic Engineer and City Engineering Division.
