Title
Authorizing the City of Madison to transfer certain personnel records to Dane County pursuant to the Intergovernmental Agreement creating the Department of Public Health for Madison and Dane County
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison and Dane County, pursuant to Wis. Stat. ยงยง 66.0301 and 251.02(1m), entered into the Intergovernmental Agreement for Creation of a City-County Health Department effective as of December 31, 2007;
WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Agreement, Section VI. B., provided that all City of Madison positions at the Department of Public Health for Madison and Dane County ("DPHMDC") shall be transferred to County positions no later than December 31, 2011 with the related City employees taking the position with the County;
WHEREAS, to avoid the duplication of services, improve efficiency, and effect an orderly transition, it is necessary that the City of Madison transfer its personnel records for those related City employees to Dane County;
NOW, THEFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Madison, that pursuant to the provisions of the Intergovernmental Agreement, the City shall transfer the personnel records for those related City employees to Dane County, the terms of such transfer to be negotiated between the City and the County and memorialized in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The proper City Departments are authorized and directed to take all action necessary to effectuate the transfer.
