There is no net effect on total City expenditures or the City levy. Funding of $56,730 for salaries plus $20,593 in benefit expense (a total expense of $77,323) is included in the 2012 adopted budget of the Community Development Division and will be transferred to the Finance Department.

Amending the 2012 Adopted Operating Budgets of the Community Development Division and the Finance Department to transfer a 1.0 FTE Grant Writer position and associated salary and benefit expense from CDD to Finance.
Body
WHEREAS, a new position of "Grant Writer" was created in the 2011 adopted operating budget of the Community Development Division (CDD) and funded for half the year; and
WHEREAS, the position has not yet been filled, but is fully funded in the 2012 adopted operating budget of CDD; and
WHEREAS, the Grant Writer position was created to explore and pursue potential grant opportunities that might apply to all City agencies and services; and
WHEREAS, as a Citywide Grant Writer, it has been determined that the position is better suited as one administered under the auspices of the Finance Department rather than CDD.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 1.0 FTE position of Grant Writer be transferred from CDD to Finance and that the 2012 Adopted Operating Budgets of the Community Development Division and Finance Department be amended to transfer the salary and benefit expense, as below:
