Amending Section 15.03 of the Madison General Ordinances to revise the existing Aldermanic Districts to incorporate changes necessitated by the State's redistricting.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: As noted in the companion ordinance, the new law allowing the State to redistrict prior to local governments necessitates technical modifications of wards in the City of Madison. This ordinance adds the new wards to the related new aldermanic districts.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
Section 15.03 entitled "Aldermanic Districts" of the Madison General Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
"15.03 ALDERMANIC DISTRICTS.
For the purpose of local elections beginning January 1, 2012, Aldermanic Districts are established as follows by combining contiguous whole wards and as shown on a map entitled "City of Madison Aldermanic Districts and Wards, June 29, 2011" on file in the Office of the City Clerk:
(1) First Aldermanic District. Wards 93, 94, 95, 96, and 97 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, and 106.
(2) Second Aldermanic District. Wards 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43 44, 45, 46, 47, and 48.
(3) Third Aldermanic District. Wards 7, 8, 9. 10, and 11, and 12.
(4) Fourth Aldermanic District. Wards 44, 45, 46, 47, and 48 49, 50, 51, 52, and 53.
(5) Fifth Aldermanic District. Wards 55, 56, 57, and 58 60, 61, 62, 63, and 64.
(6) Sixth Aldermanic District. Wards 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43.
(7) Seventh Aldermanic District. Wards 89, 90, 91, and 92 97, 98, 99, and 100.
