Congratulating the James Madison Memorial High School Forensics Team, champions of the 2011 Wisconsin Forensic Coaches Association State Tournament.
Body
 
WHEREAS, the James Madison Memorial High School Spartan Forensics Team finished the 2010-2011 season as State Champs for the fourth consecutive year in the Wisconsin Forensic Coaches Association tournament season; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Spartan team is comprised of students from 9th through 12th grade who prepare for the competition throughout the school year and involves over 70 students; and,
 
WHEREAS, the team sent 26 students to the State tournament to compete in 25 categories; and,
 
WHEREAS, 5 individual students were declared State Champions, 2 students were awarded second place, 2 more students were awarded third place and the Spartan team placed first with 334 team points; and,
 
WHEREAS, Coach Thomas Hardin with the assistance of Tim Schefler, Andrew Gordon, and David Olson helped the team and individual members achieve excellence; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Madison community is proud of the teamwork, dedication and spirit demonstrated by the students of the Spartan Forensics Team; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council wishes to recognize the strong support for the Spartan Forensics Team by the parents, student body, faculty, staff and all Spartan fans,
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council congratulates Coach Hardin, his assistant coaches and the entire Spartan Forensics Team on their successful season and their 2011 State Championship.
