Accepting an Offer to Sell from Dane County for a vacant parcel of land located at 5009 Hob Street, for extension of a public sidewalk from South Stoughton Road Service Road to Hob Street.
Body
WHEREAS, the owners of the property located at 2126 S. Stoughton Road (dba Farm & Fleet of Madison) are installing new public sidewalk as part of their redevelopment of this property, in association with expansion of their adjacent business operation; and
WHEREAS, City Engineering will be constructing an extension of the new public sidewalk through a small vacant parcel, owned by Dane County, which is located at the end of Hob Street; and
WHEREAS, the extension of the new public sidewalk will provide a pedestrian connection from the Hob Street to the South Stoughton Road Service Road; and
WHEREAS, City Engineering inquired about purchasing the parcel from Dane County and incorporating the parcel into the existing right-of-way of Hob Street, for the purpose of construction of the new public sidewalk extension; and
WHEREAS, Dane County has agreed to sell the small parcel located at 5009 Hob Street to the City for an agreed upon price of $2,100; and
WHEREAS, the City Office of Real Estate Services and the City Engineering Division staff have reviewed the recommend the acceptance of the offer to sell.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Madison is hereby authorized to accept the offer to sell from Dane County for their property located at 5009 Hob Street, as shown on Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the conditions of sale include the following:
1) Purchase price of $2,100
2) Conveyance of Quit Claim Deed to the City of Madison from Dane County
3) Closing shall occur upon on or about May 6, 2011
