Funding of $140,300 is included in the Fire Department's 2011 operating budget and will need to be included in the 2012 and 2013 budgets. The contract also provides for automatic one-year extensions up to ten years.

Body
The City has finalized a contract for the Medical Director for the Fire Department emergency medical services program (EMS). The Medical Director is responsible for providing the City with medical direction. The Medical Director performs all the duties, responsibilities and has the authority as vested for a Medical Director in the United States Code of Federal Regulations, the Wisconsin State Statutes, the Wisconsin Administrative Code and also includes any revisions to laws or regulations regarding the delivery of EMS care and performance of Medical Director duties.
This contract is with the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, Inc. (UWMF) on behalf of the faculty physicians in the Department of Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine (Department) of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. The contract is for a term of three years with automatic annual extension terms for up to ten years. The agreement cannot go beyond thirteen years which includes the original term and annual term extensions.The contract is for $140,300 annually.
