Fiscal Note
The stated contract salary is $138,000, effective February 22, 2011. The 2011 adopted operating budget of the Office of the Director of Planning and Community and Economic Development (PCED) provides salary funding of $125,901. Thus, the budget will be approximately $11K to $12K short for salary expense, plus benefits of $4K to $5K, or a projected budget shortfall of roughly $15K to $17K. The agency will need to accommodate the funding through careful management of its overall budget.

WHEREAS, Mayor Cieslewicz has appointed Steven R. Cover to the position of Director of Planning and Community and Economic Development and has recommended to the Common Council that his appointment be confirmed; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Cover,
NOW, THEREFORE, be resolved that Mr. Cover's appointment to the position of Director of Planning and Community and Economic Development is hereby confirmed, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Cover.
