Title: Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Meriter Health Services, Inc. for the provision of unlimited ride passes to its employees and volunteers for Metro Transit fixed route and ADA paratransit services, with reimbursement to the transit utility for employee and volunteer trips for the period December 1, 2010 through November 30, 2011 with one automatic renewal for the period December 1, 2011 through November 30, 2012.

Fiscal Note
This agreement provides for the reimbursement by Meriter Health Services, Inc. for all the fixed route and ADA paratransit trips provided by Metro Transit to Meriter employees and volunteers during the contract term. Metro transit shall be reimbursed at the rate of $1.15 per ride for fixed route trips and the per ride paratransit rate in effect at the time the ride is taken for paratransit trips. Metro has included estimated revenue of $40,000 in its 2011 operating budget for this agreement. ($38,800 is included in Metro's 2010 operating budget). Estimated revenue will be included in Metro's operating budget for each additional year of the agreement

Body
WHEREAS, Meriter Health Services, Inc. and Metro Transit have had a successful and productive contracting arrangement for an unlimited ride pass for Meriter employees and volunteers in the past and both parties wish to continue their agreement; and

WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated a contract which meets all Transit and Parking Commission criteria set in advance for unlimited ride pass agreements;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into a one year unlimited ride pass agreement with Meriter Health Services, Inc., owning and operating Meriter Hospital, from December 1, 2010 through November 30, 2011 which will automatically be renewed for one additional year from December 1, 2011 through November 30, 2012, with reimbursement to the transit utility at the rate of $1.15 per fixed route t...
