Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the complete renovation, exterior improvements, and possible expansion of the Madison Central Public Library.
Body
WHEREAS the 2010 Capital Budget includes funding for architectural and engineering consultant design services, an Architect consultant must be hired to design this project; and,
WHEREAS the contract compensation for architectural and engineering design services for Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle is $1,799,500; and,
WHEREAS through the design process the City and Architect will determine the additional square footage of the 3rd floor, which will require additional design fees to be added as an addendum to this contract; and.
WHEREAS the project is the development and preparation of designs, plans and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance in the bid process and construction administration for the design and construction of renovation improvements and furnishings for Madison Central Public Library located at 201 West Mifflin Street; and,
WHEREAS the scope of this project shall include professional furnishings, programming architectural and engineering design services for building improvements that will achieve at a minimum LEED Certification-Silver following the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations (LEED-NC) Rating System.
WHEREAS Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle located at 710 S. 2nd Street, Minneapolis, MN, has been selected through the “Request for Qualifications” process and “Final Interview” process, and is the final selected candidate in accordance with MGO Section 4.26 of Madison General Ordinances and in accordance with APM No. 3-3 of Administrative Procedure Memorandum,
