The various provisions of this agreement will result in annual wage and benefit cost increases estimated to total approximately $40,000, including $30,000 of increased health insurance premiums, for Police Department commissioned supervisory personnel beginning in 2010.  The agreement provides for no general cost of living increase until a 3% wage increase is initiated at the end of the two year term. Sufficient funds have been included in the 2010 Executive Budget to fund the health insurance premium cost increase.  The remaining 2010 costs will be absorbed through the reallocation of available budget resources and subsequent operating budgets will include future year costs.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  This ordinance adopts and confirms the Labor Agreement between the City of Madison and the Association of Madison Police Supervisors (AMPS), from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2011.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:  
The Labor Agreement between the City of Madison and the Association of Madison Police Supervisors (AMPS) from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2011 is hereby adopted in its entirety and confirmed in all respects, and the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to sign the agreement.
