Fiscal Note
This agreement would allow Dane County to take advantage of State 85.20 transit funding for a portion of the RSVP service cost borne by Dane County. Dane County’s total anticipated cost of the RSVP services within the Metro service area is $161,098. Dane County will provide $86,993 of County General Purpose Revenue and other funds and Metro will provide no more than $74,105 of State Operating Assistance. Funding for 2008 is included in Metro’s operating budget.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Dane County Human Services to provide RSVP Driver Escort Services for the City of Madison for the calendar year 2008.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison is eligible to receive Section 85.20 urban mass transit aids from the State of Wisconsin for eligible transit activities within the Madison Metro service area; and,
WHEREAS, Dane County’s total net anticipated costs of the RSVP Driver Escort Services for Senior Citizens (60+) and for individuals with disabilities is $161,098 from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008 for the service within the Metro service area; and,
WHEREAS, Metro wishes to pass through to Dane County $74,105 of State Section 85.20 funds with the remaining amount, not to exceed $ 86,993, to be provided by Dane County from County General Purpose Revenue and other funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City and the County plan to maintain cooperative funding for this program;
Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City and the County to take advantage of the Section 85.20 funds for the full programs;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with Dane County to provided for the pass-through of no more than $74,105 in Section 85.20 funds for the purpose of providing RSVP services in the calendar year 2008 with the remaining amount, not to exceed $ 86,993, to be provided by Dane County from County General Purpose Revenue and other fun...
