Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes a sole source service contract with Stryker Sales Corporation - Medical Division for annual preventative maintenance and service for ambulance power cot and power load systems. The cost of this three-year contract is $129,168. The proposed resolution also authorizes a sole source purchase of Power Pro Cots and Power Loaders to be installed into new ambulances arriving in 2027 in the amount of $157,790. Total costs from the proposed resolution are $286,958. These expenses are funded by the EMS Funding Assistance Program (FAP Grant) in the Fire Department’s grant fund in the 2026 Adopted Operating Budget. No additional appropriation is required.

WHEREAS, the Fire Department has purchased and implemented Styker Power Load Systems and Power Cots in all front line and reserve ambulance units;
WHEREAS, new ambulances will be arriving in 2027 and will require Power Pro Cots and Power Loaders;
WHEREAS, the ambulance Power Cots and Power Load systems require annual maintenance and occasional repair to maintain optimum performance;
WHEREAS, Stryker utilizes proprietary diagnostic tools and software when servicing the Power Load systems and maintains its own field service team to perform maintenance using only parts manufactured specifically for Stryker products;
WHEREAS, Fire Department staff have negotiated a 3-year service contract with Stryker for a cost of $129,168.00;
