                                                         PREAMBLE
For the last eight years, the City of Madison Department of Public Health has served as the fiscal agent for a grant that the Safe Community Coalition of Madison and Dane County has received from the State of Wisconsin Bureau of Transportation Safety. In the 2006 Operating Budget, the City of Madison Department of Public Health (MDPH) anticipated a grant of $60,000 from the Bureau of Transportation Safety. In March it appeared that the Safe Community Grant would be approved. In early May it was learned that the grant request had been denied.
 
With this resolution, the 2006 Operating Budget is amended to remove the expenses and revenue related to this grant.
 
WHEREAS the 2006 Operating Budget for the Madison Department of Public Health included a grant whereby it would serve as the fiscal agent for a grant to the Safe Community Coalition of Madison and Dane,
 
WHEREAS the grant was not approved by the Bureau of Transportation Safety,
 
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2006 Operating Budget be amended by the following amounts:

Community Agency Contracts                  ($60,000)
 
GN01-73214-Section 5000  
State/ Health/Social Service Grant Revenues         $60,000
