Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an Amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and MSA Professional Services, Inc. for additional design engineering services for S High Point Rd. (District 1, District 7)
Body
The City of Madison is proposing to construct S High Point Road from Raymond Road to the Midpoint Meadows Plat in 2026-2027. The project includes construction of the roadway, multi-use path & associated lighting & stormwater facilities. The City has entered into an agreement with MSA Professional Services, Inc. (contract #8537) for design engineering services (RES-24-00630).
The project has been presented to the public for input at a public information meeting, & the City’s website. From the development of the plans through public input, including reviews from the Transportation Commission and the Board of Public Works, the City Engineer recommends that additional design services be undertaken:
1. Roundabout Design (including lighting, traffic control, drainage and design documentation) $52,900
2. Additional Survey for Roundabout design $1,800
3. Sanitary Sewer Design $4,000
4. Soil Borings $5,550
5. Total Additional Services = $64,250
As part of the development of the design, several tasks in the original contract will not be required and the City Engineer recommends that these tasks be removed from the contract:

3. Stormwater Management Plan
4. Reduce Construction RFI
Reduced Preliminary & Final Design items:
5. Reduce 1 Public Meeting
6. Local Officials Meetings
