Accepting the Final Report of the Transient and Occupancy Tax Study Committee dated October 2008. - Jim Hess, Director
Body
WHEREAS, the Transient and Occupancy Tax (TOT) Study Committee was recommended and approved by the Common Council during the 2008 City budget deliberations and members appointed in early 2008; and,
WHEREAS, the Study Committee gathered and reviewed data and developed recommendations for future priorities and uses of the City's Transient and Occupancy Tax fund; and,
WHEREAS, the Study Committee submitted a final report as a memorandum to Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, the Common Council, members of the Board of Estimates and the Economic Development Commission on October 15, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, the report identifies the appropriate and best use of Transient and Occupancy Tax funds; and,
WHEREAS, the report provides recommendations on Transient and Occupancy Fund policies and suggests targets that the city should implement,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby accepts the report.
