This resolution authorizes the receipt of a grant of $78,000 to fund consultant services associated with developing a report on reducing opportunity gaps in Madison. This resolution will increase the expenditure authority for Consulting Services in the Mayor's Office budget by $78,000 offset by $78,000 of grant revenues to the Mayor's Office budget. This amendment will have no affect on the City's Expenditure Restraint Program calculation.

Approving the acceptance of a Grant from the Casey Family Programs in the amount of $78,000 to provide staff in the Mayor’s office to prepare a Blueprint for Reducing Opportunity Gaps in Madison, amending the 2015 adopted operating budget for the Mayor's Office, and authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to Sign a Grant Agreement.

WHEREAS, on April 23, 2015, the Mayor was informed that Madison was chosen to receive a grant from the Casey Family Programs (see attached letter); and,
WHEREAS, the grant will be in the amount of $78,000, and will fund a specific person, L. Torry Winn, to assist the Mayor’s office in developing a blueprint for reducing opportunity gaps in Madison; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the grant, to fund the position, and to enter into a grant agreement with Casey Family Programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City accepts the proposal for a $78,000 grant to develop a blueprint for reducing opportunity gaps in Madison; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City will utilize the services of L. Torry Winn to assist the Mayor’s office in developing the blueprint; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2015 adopted operating budget is amended to increase revenues and expenditures to the Mayor's Office by $78,000; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk may enter into a Grant Agreement with Casey Family Programs, or any other entity in the ...
