Fiscal Note
In the adopted 2016 capital budget, Engineering Major Streets has budgeted for the design cost of the multi-year project for reconstruction of Gammon Rd. The funding for the construction is provided by GO borrowing. (MUNIS 11130)

The proposed resolution authorizes an agreement for consulting services for the design of the multi-year project with subsequent funding coming from future years at a total estimated cost of $750,000. It’s estimated that $150,000 of the total cost will be needed in 2016. The split of the estimated total cost amongst agencies is as follows:

PREAMBLE

The City is proposing to reconstruct Gammon Rd from Seybold Rd to Mineral Point Rd and the West Towne Path from Grand Canyon Dr to S. Junction Rd in 2020. The consultant’s services will include the completion of preliminary plans and the Environmental Assessment report and Final Plans & Specifications.

Pursuant to City Ordinances and Policies, the City Engineer advertised for consultant proposals, reviewed the submitted proposals, and recommends the design engineering contract be awarded to Ayres Associates, Inc.

This will be a multi-year design project (2016-2020) and construction is scheduled for 2020. $145,000 of budget authority remains in account 10168 (Gammon Underpass) & $590,000 was included in the 2016 capital budget for account 10763 (West Towne Path, High Point to Junction), and the remainder will be budgeted for in a future year under the West Towne Path project and S Gammon Rd. project.
