Title
Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2023-04 Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services to Support the Overdose Data to Action Project and Opioid Fatality Review
Body
Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of $81,388 additional funding from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services through the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) Community Prevention and Overdose Fatality Review Grants. The goal of OD2A is to strengthen and enhance the capacity of communities to prevent morbidity and mortality associated with opioid overdoses. The Dane County Overdose Fatality Review is a multi-disciplinary team facilitated by PHMDC, which examines individual drug-involved overdose death cases in order to develop systems-level recommendations for preventing future fatalities. Specifically, these additional funds will be used to support continuation and expansion related to this work.
On December 1, 2021, the Board of Health passed Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2021-27 which approved $85,000 from OD2A and $35,000 for Overdose Fatality Review. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has awarded $166,388 for OD2A and $49,702 for Overdose Fatality Review for a total of $216,090.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept the additional funding amount of $81,388 and sign the related agreement.
