Authorize appropriation to Madison Public Library 2022 Capital Budget $27,409.65 of funds received from Hawthorne branch landlord for building improvements. The funds were originally in Library's 2021 Operating Budget and lapsed to Library fund balance.

WHEREAS, Madison Public Library's (MPL) Hawthorne branch recently negotiated a new lease, and included in the new lease were funds to reimburse MPL for interior space improvements; and,
WHEREAS, after MPL concluded painting and flooring improvements funds of $27,409.65 remained unspent the landlord approved a request to use the remaining funds to supplement the LED lighting project. The budget process requires MPL to transfer the funds that lapsed to Library fund balance into the Capital budget for this project; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Madison Public Library Board is granting authorization for Madison Public Library to transfer the funds from Library fund balance to Capital fund; and,
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, the Madison Public Library is authorized to create the necessary 2022 Operating and 2022 Capital budget amendments to transfer the funds.
