Fiscal Note
The Chief of Staff position was first funded in the 2017 Adopted Operating Budget. The 2018 Operating Budget, recently adopted by the Common Council, continues funding for the position and annualized the projected salary. As stated in the Employment Agreement between the City of Madison and Kwasi K. Obeng, the Common Council Chief of Staff's initial year’s salary will be based on a total annualized rate of $105,000 effective January 8, 2018. Annual salary adjustments may be made during the term of the agreement at the Common Council Executive Committee's discretion, subject to Common Council approval.

Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee has appointed Kwasi K. Obeng to the position of Common Council Chief of Staff and recommended to the Common Council that his appointment be confirmed; and,
WHEREAS, the parties have reach an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Obeng,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Mr. Obeng's appointment to the position of Common Council Chief of Staff is hereby confirmed, and the Common Council President and the City Clerk are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Obeng.
