Title
Approval of Consulting Contract between the City of Madison and Sustainable Engineering Group LLC to develop a plan for the City of Madison operations to achieve 100% renewable energy and zero-net carbon.
Body
WHEREAS in March of 2017, the Common Council adopted Resolution RES-17-00213 which called on the City to establish a goal for City of Madison operations and community to reach a goal of 100% renewable energy and net-zero carbon; and,
WHEREAS the resolution also allocated funding for a third-party to develop a plan for city operations to achieve goals of 100% renewable energy and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions; and,
WHEREAS members of the SMC along with the city staff from Engineering and City purchasing developed a scope of services and a request for proposals which was advertised for several week; and,
WHEREAS city staff and members of SMC reviewed eight proposals that were received and then interviewed the top four teams; and,
WHEREAS the review panel has determined that the City of Madison will enter into a contract with Sustainable Engineering Group LLC.
WHEREAS Sustainable Engineering Group LLC, WI has been selected through the “Request for Qualifications” process and Final Interview” process, and is the final selected candidate in accordance with MGO Section 4.26 of Madison General Ordinances and in accordance with APM No. 3-3 of Administrative Procedure Memorandum,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract for Purchase of Services in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, with Sustainable Engineering Group LLC to provide a plan for city operations to achieve goals of 100% renewable energy and net-zero carbon; and,
