Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution amends the 2017 Adopted Operating Budget to transfer funding from TID 32 and 36 to Metro for the purchase of two bus facilities to be placed near the homeless day resource center on East Washington Avenue. Funding for the transfer will be split evenly between TID 32 and TID 36.

SUBSTITUTE - Amending Metro Transit's 2017 Operating Budget to appropriate up to $16,000 of TID 32 and 36 funding to purchase two bus shelters for the 600 block of East Washington Avenue.

Body

WHEREAS, the new homeless day resource center will be opened at 615 East Washington Avenue; and

 

WHEREAS, the bus stops closest to this location do not have shelters; and

 

WHEREAS, the city would like to install bus shelters at both the eastbound and westbound stops near the homeless day resource center;

 

WHEREAS, the cost of the shelters will be approximately $16,000 and will be paid for with city TIF funding;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Metro Transit's 2017 Operating Budget will be amended to appropriate approximately the transfer of $8,000 from TID 32 and $8,000 from TID 36 $16,000 of city TIF funding (from TID 32) to the supply budget within Metro Transit to purchase two bus shelters to be placed at the eastbound and westbound bus stops nearest 615 East Washington Avenue, the location for the homeless day resource center.
