Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution recreates hourly Substitute Crossing Guard positions into a new compensation group. With this change, Substitute Crossing Guards will be eligible for step increases similar to Scheduled Crossing Guards. Substitutes currently earn an hourly rate of $17.99. Under the new compensation group, Substitutes would start at $17.91 per hour with a maximum step 4 amount of $21.15 per hour. Additional wage costs from this change are not estimated to exceed $2,600. This $2,600 in additional costs assumes pre-Covid hours worked and all Substitute Crossing Guards at the max hourly rate. Traffic Engineering can accommodate any additional costs within its hourly wage budget for Crossing Guards.

Create the hourly classification of Substitute Crossing Guard in CG83, Range 00; recreate position #2626 into the new classification, and reallocate incumbents accordingly.
