Commending and thanking Alderperson Allen Arntsen for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 13 and to the City of Madison.

Body

WHEREAS, Alderperson Allen Arntsen was appointed to represent District 13 on the Madison Common Council on August 7, 2018; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Arntsen served on the Community Development Authority, Truman Olson Selection Committee, Henry Vilas Zoo Commission, Community Services Committee, Joint Campus Area Committee, Madison Area Transportation Planning Board (MPO) and the Bayview Foundation Board; and,

 

WHEREAS, during his tenure Alderperson Arntsen spearheaded the removal of the confederate memorial monument from Forest Hill Cemetery; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Arntsen shepherded the final approvals for the Peloton Apartment project at the corner of S. Park Street and Fish Hatchery Road, (after a six year process), and in a way that respected input from the affected neighbors; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Arntsen worked on providing funding to implement the Vilas Park Master Plan and the acquisition of the State Medical Society Building to expand Olin Park; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Arntsen supported and addressed constituent concerns over the expansion of the Snow Emergency Zone into portions of the 13th District, which served as a pilot for the further expansion of the zone into other city neighborhoods; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Arntsen through his hard work and dedication to his aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served his constituents and the City of Madison,

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Allen Arntsen for his dedicated service to his constituents in District 13 and the City of Madison.
