Title
Commending and thanking Alderperson Sheri Carter for her dedicated and conscientious service during her tenure as Common Council Vice-President.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sheri Carter was elected by her peers to the office of Vice-President of the Madison Common Council on April 17, 2018 for the term of 2018-2019; and,
WHEREAS Alderperson Sheri Carter provided invaluable support and advice to Council President Samba Baldeh; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sheri Carter met weekly with Mayor Paul Soglin, his staff and Common Council President Baldeh to discuss city issues; and,
WHEREAS, during her term as Common Council Vice-President, Alderperson Carter served as vice-chair of the Common Council Executive Committee and served on the City-County Liaison Committee, Community Development Authority, Historic Preservation Plan Advisory Committee, Madison Arts Commission, Plan Commission, President's Work Group on Police & Community Relations, President's Work Group to Develop City-Wide Surveillance Equipment & Data Management Policies, Task Force on Structure of City Government, Truman Olson Selection Committee, Urban Design Commission and the Urban Forestry Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Carter has met the demands of her additional duties with committed and dedicated service; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Carter also continued to ably represent and respond to her 14th District constituents,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and members of the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Sheri Carter for her dedicated and conscientious service during her tenure as Vice-President of the Madison Common Council.
