Atwood Avenue reconstruction from Fair Oaks Ave to Cottage Grove Rd.

The City is proposing to reconstruct Atwood Avenue from Fair Oaks Ave to Cottage Grove Rd in 2020. This is adjacent to Olbrich Park. Significant pedestrian and bicycle facilities are being added along the park. A new pedestrian/bicycle bridge is proposed across the Starkweather Creek. A grassed median is proposed along the park to assist with both traffic calming and pedestrian crossing. A rectangular rapid flashing beacon is proposed to assist pedetrians crossing at Oakridge Ave to Olbrich Gardens. Parking is being proposed on both sides of Atwood Ave. Portions of the sidewalk, bikepath, parking, Walter St intersection & bus stop would be created within park property.
