Title

Amending Section 2.05(5) of the Madison General Ordinances to allow the reintroduction of a matter in less than 60 days by suspension of the rules.

Body

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  Section 2.05(5), MGO, provides that an ordinance or resolution once having been defeated may not be reintroduced for 60 days.  In the opinion of the City Attorney, this rule is subject to the ability of the Council to suspend the rules by a 2/3 majority vote.  This ordinance makes it clear that the 60-day rule may be suspended by the Council.
