Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution authorizes the execution of an Underground Electric Easement to the Madison Gas and Electric Company (MG&E) across a portion of City property at 917 E. Mifflin St., where MG&E is installing underground electric facilities and an aboveground transformer. No City appropriation is required.

Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the City’s property located at 917 E. Mifflin St.

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) is installing underground electric facilities and an aboveground transformer across a portion of the City’s property located at 917 E. Mifflin St., as depicted on the attached Exhibit A, and has requested an easement from the City; and

 

WHEREAS, City of Madison Parks Division and Real Estate staff have reviewed and approved of the granting of said easement; and

 

WHEREAS, no trees will be damaged as a result of said installation activities.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Easement to MG&E across a portion of the City’s property, located at 917 E. Mifflin St., legally described as follows:

 

A strip of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in Lot 10, Block 159, Original Town of Madison Plat, lying in part of the SW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 13, Town 7 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerline of said strip being more particularly described as follows:

                                          

Commencing at the easterly corner of said Lot 10; thence Northwesterly, 78 feet along the southwesterly right-of-way line of North Brearly Street to the point of beginning; thence Southwesterly, 10 feet, perpendicular to said right-of-way line to the point of termination.
