Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes acceptance of a Permanent Limited Easement for public sidewalk purposes. No City appropriation is required. An administrative fee of $500 will be collected by the Economic Development Division and deposited into the agency’s general revenue account.

Accepting a Permanent Limited Easement for Public Sidewalk Purposes from Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System across the Witte Residence Hall property located at 615 West Johnson Street.

WHEREAS, the Owner, Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System (“Owner”), has received the City of Madison’s approval of conditional use for renovations and additions to Witte Residence Hall located at 615 West Johnson Street; and
WHEREAS, as a condition of this approval, the Owner is required to convey a Permanent Limited Easement for Public Sidewalk Purposes to the City of Madison for existing sidewalk at the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Madison hereby accepts a Permanent Limited Easement for Public Sidewalk Purposes, at no cost, from Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System across the parcel described below and depicted on attached Exhibit A (the “Easement Area”):
The North 5 feet of Lot 1, Lot 2, Lot 3, Lot 4 and Lot 5, Block 13, University Addition to Madison, as recorded in Volume A of Plats, on page 9, Document No. 109, Dane County Register of Deeds, being located in the Northeast Quarter and Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 07 North, Range 09 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin.
