Title
Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Line Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of City-owned property located at 650 West Washington Avenue.
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company is upgrading the underground electric facilities serving the areas in and around Campus Mall and West Washington Avenue; and
WHEREAS, as part of said underground electric service upgrade, MG&E has requested a seven (7) foot wide and fifteen (15) foot wide underground electric line easement (“Easement”) across a portion of City-owned property at 650 West Washington Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineering Division has reviewed and approve of the Easement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Line Easement with Madison Gas and Electric Company for the Easement described as follows:
Two strips of land, the first being seven (7) feet in width and the other being fifteen (15) feet in width, located in a strip of land dedicated to the public in the West Madison Depot Plat, lying in part of the NW¼ of Section 23, Town 7 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerlines of said strips being more particularly described as follows:
The right-of-way shall be located 3.5 feet and 7.5 feet on the right side and 3.5 feet and 7.5 feet on the left side of the centerline of MG&E’s facilities as constructed. The facilities shall be located approximately as set forth in the drawing attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and dated November 3, 2016.
