Fiscal Note
In the adopted 2016 Capital Budget Engineering - Major Streets has budgeted $4.02 million for the reconstruction of streets with substandard pavement rating within the major capital program Rural to Urban Streets (MUNIS 11431). The minor project for the reconstruction of Sunset Court is established with sufficient budget authority for the work in the proposed amendment. Funding is provided by GO Borrowing and Assessments.
The proposed resolution approves plan documents at a total estimated cost of $2,503,000 of which $310,243 will be funded by assessments and $2,192,757 by City funding. That total cost will be split amongst agencies as follows:
Engineering Major Streets - $656,000
Sewer Utility - $681,000
Stormwater Utility - $686,000
Water Utility - $480,000

Approving Plans, Specifications, And Schedule Of Assessments For Sunset Court Assessment District - 2017. (11th AD)

The Board of Public Works and the City Engineer having made reports of all proceedings in relation to the improvement of Sunset Court Assessment District - 2017 pursuant to a resolution of the Common Council ID No. 44470, adopted 10/4/2016, which resolution was adopted thereto, and the provisions of the Madison General Ordinances and the Wisconsin Statutes in such case made and provided, and the Common Council being fully advised.
BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the City at large is justly chargeable with and shall pay the sum of $2,192,756.70 of the entire cost of said improvement.
2. That for those eligible property owners requesting construction of a rain garden in the public right-of-way adjacent to their property shall execute the necessary waiver of special assessments on forms provided by the City Engineer;
