The cost of the contract in this proposed resolution is an annual amount of $165,000 from 2017 through 2021. This cost is will be sufficiently budgeted annually in future Streets Division's annual Operating Budgets.

Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to contract with Purple Cow Organics, LLC to process and compost the leaves and yard waste collected by the Streets Division.
Body
This agreement would extend from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021. The contract contains only an expense component. The expense will billed at a flat monthly fee as outlined in Attachment A.
Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to contract with Purple Cow Organics LLC to process and compost leaves and other yard waste collected by the Streets Division
WHEREAS, the Streets Division collects over 18,000 tons of yard waste material each year that must be kept from the landfill in accordance with Wisconsin State Statute 287.07(2) and in accordance with the City’s own commitment to environmentally sound practices, and
WHEREAS, Purple Cow Organics, LLC is a respected local composter with years of expertise with handling yard waste materials and has all appropriate licenses and permits, and
WHEREAS, Purple Cow Organics, LLC submitted the most favorable proposal to perform the needed services for the Streets Division to continue performing leaf and yard waste collection services to the taxpayers of Madison, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to contract with Purple Cow Organics for the processing of leaves and yard waste collected by the Streets Division
