Title

Amending the 2016 Sewer Utility Capital Budget and Authorizing the Board of Public Works to Advertise and receive bids for, Rimrock Interceptor - Industrial Drive Extension.

Body

Whereas, the “Rimrock Interceptor - Industrial Drive Extension,” is a sewer used jointly by the City of Madison and the City of Monona; and,

Whereas, said sewer is in poor condition and in need of repair; and,

Whereas, since this sewer jointly serves multiple municipalities, it is usual and customary that the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) own and maintain this sewer; and,

Whereas, MMSD is agreeable to assume ownership of the sewer once the municipalities reconstruct the sewer to a ‘like new’ condition.

Now Therefore Be It Resolved, that the 2016 Sewer Capital Budget is amended for this project and the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for, Rimrock Interceptor - Industrial Drive Extension.

Be It Further Resolved, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a 3 party agreement between the City of Madison, the City of Monona, and the MMSD, for the purpose of funding the project and transferring the sewer to MMSD ownership upon completion.
