Fiscal Note

RES-16-00272 (Legistar file ID 41545) amended the Fire Department’s 2016 operating budget to accept a new grant to cover the cost of purchasing and placing into service Standardized HAZMAT Detection Equipment totaling $56,825.70 (MUNIS Project 17467-30-150).  The proposed resolution authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the grant agreement documents and has no additional fiscal impact.

Correcting Resolution No. RES-16-00272 to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign an agreement for a Homeland Security Grant Award with the WI Department of Military Affairs for $56,825.70 for certain Standardized HAZMAT Detection Equipment.

 

Body

WHEREAS, in Resolution No. RES-16-00272 (ID 41545) adopted on April 19, 2016,  the Common Council authorized receipt of a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs in the amount of $56,825.70 for the Fire Department to purchase certain HAZMAT equipment and amendment of the Fire Department’s 2016 budget accordingly; and

 

WHEREAS,  that resolution omitted authorization for the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the grant agreement documents required to be signed by the Department of Military Affairs and such authority is required before the Mayor and Clerk may sign any such agreement;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign a Homeland Security Program Grant Award with the State of Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs to receive a grant in the amount of $56,825.70 for the purposes described above and in RES-16-00272.
