Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to Execute a Contract with AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc. for Extended Project Director Services for the Judge Doyle Square Project
Body
WHEREAS, since 2011 George E. Austin has acted as the City’s project director and staff team lead for the Judge Doyle Square Project through a series of contracts between the City and his company, AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, on February 3, 2015 the City authorized the issuance of a new Request for Proposals (RFP) associated with development of a hotel and other facilities on Blocks 88 and 105; and
WHEREAS, on May 5, 2015 the City authorized the extension of the Contract with AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc. for project director services until January 31, 2016, for a cost not to exceed $38,000.
WHEREAS, on May 19, 2015 the Common Council directed the Judge Doyle Square Negotiating Team to immediately engage JDS, LLC/Exact Sciences in an exclusive negotiation on an accelerated timeline to meet the needs of Exact Sciences,
WHEREAS, AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc. has provided project director services on an accelerated time line and fully expended the amount of its contract, and
WHEREAS, the City wants AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc. to continue providing project director services for the Judge Doyle Square Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Madison increases the permitted expenditure for services in the Contract with AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc. for a fee not to exceed $30,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to execute an amendment to the Contract with AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc., in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
