Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution allows the Fire Department to bill for any authorized fees, including those that do not require a patient be transported. There is no anticipated fiscal impact at this time based on current levels of service.

Amending Section 6.19(6) of the Madison General Ordinances to permit the Fire Department to bill for authorized fees.

Body

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  This ordinance provides the Fire Department with the authority to bill for any   authorized fees.  It eliminates the requirement that a patient be transported before the patient may be billed for services provided.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:

                     Subsection (6) of Section 6.19 entitled “Fire Department Emergency Rescue Ambulance Service” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:

“(6)                     The Finance Director shall administer the billing system for the collection of Fire Department emergency rescue ambulance service conveyance                      fees.”
