Resolution authorizing a double-fill of the position of Public Works General Foreperson (Construction Manager, #1118) in Engineering due to the retirement of Jim Martinson.
Body
WHEREAS, Public Works General Foreperson James Martinson is retiring from City of Madison employment effective on or about January 2, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Martinson’s last day in the office will be December 11, 2015, after which he will be using accrued leave until his retirement date, and
WHEREAS, the Engineering Division has requested the authorization to double-fill the position held by Mr. Martinson in order to ensure an orderly transition, and
WHEREAS, Engineering intends to recruit to fill the position on or about November 8, 2015 in order to allow the selected candidate time to work with Mr. Martinson to learn the position, and
WHEREAS, the double-fill will exceed thirty (30) days;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Engineering Division is authorized to double-fill the position of Public Works General Foreperson (#1118) from November 8, 2015 through January 2, 2016, or Mr. Martinson’s final date on the payroll, whichever is later.
