This resolution authorizes an increase of $25,000 the 2015 Stormwater Utility Capital Budget to fund a study on the Warner Park Lagoon/Wetland System (53W1921/10286) to determine the best long-term strategy for managing and improving this system. Further, this resolution authorizes a $120,038 increase in the Stormwater Utility Capital Budget to fund Nakoma Greenway Repair (53W1800/10311). These budget increases are fully funded through acceptance of a grant from the WDNR.

Body
WHEREAS, The 2015 Storm Water Utility Capital Budget has provided for $250,000 funding for construction of the Nakoma Greenway Repair; and

WHEREAS, City Engineering had previously applied for a WDNR grant to fund a portion of this project and was told funds were not available; and

WHEREAS, The WDNR contacted that the City in March 2015 informing them that funding had become available for this project and given that Engineering also received notice that we had received a lake planning grant that we had previously requested for the Warner Park Lagoon/Wetland system; and

WHEREAS, City Engineering would like to proceed with both projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

1) That the City of Madison, through City Engineering, is authorized to accept both grants from the WDNR.

2) Be it further resolved that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the expenditure of grant funds in accordance with the grant application.

3) Be it further resolved that the 2015 Stormwater Utility Capital Budget is hereby amended as follows:
